4Culture Equitable Evaluation Groundwork
King County, WA / ONGOING
In 2023, the King County Council passed Doors Open, a 0.1% sales tax that will provide an estimated $100 million for arts, culture, heritage, preservation, and science annually throughout the county. 4Culture, the county’s cultural development authority will administer this funding. This funding is a major opportunity to build a strategic, organization-wide, approach to evaluation and assessment. In advance of hiring a full time evaluator, Seva Workshop supported the organization in developing a rapid baseline assessment of current evaluation practices, identifying opportunities to improve, streamline, and scale up data collection processes, and set the stage for developing a robust evaluation and assessment function that meets legislative requirements as well as sets the organization up for aligned impact and continual improvement in all its work.
