Seattle downtown Regional Center Plan

In collaboration with Agency Landscape + Planning, Biederman Redevelopment Ventures, and BAE, Seva Workshop is creating a technical report analyzing many topics, including

• Climate change and adaptation to improve health equity and ecology,
• Housing to meet Seattle’s future needs and avoid displacement, and
• Land use and development patterns for long-term resilience.

Along with Seattle’s other designated regional centers—Northgate, Uptown, South Lake Union, Capitol Hill/First Hill, and the University District—Downtown is home to a significant share of Seattle’s residents and workers. The Downtown Regional Center Plan will identify a refreshed community vision and supporting neighborhood-specific strategies to prepare for future growth and investment. Informed by robust community engagement, these strategies will reflect the community’s values, challenges, opportunities, and goals.

Seva’s stakeholder engagement centers the project’s racial equity outcomes, with a series of curated topic-based conversations relevant to the future of Downtown.

Expected in 2025, the Downtown Regional Center Plan will support the City’s efforts to make Seattle’s neighborhoods more equitable, vital, and resilient over the next 20 years.
