Spokane 5th Avenue Community Plan

Seva is leading a multidisciplinary consultant team in creating the 5th Avenue Community Plan for the City of Spokane. The Plan builds upon ongoing efforts to create a shared vision and outlines specific next steps and actions needed to create a neighborhood that is a safe, healthy, and thriving community for all residents. The vision was created through a codesign process that shares power between the City and community. Seva led technical analysis across Plan topics of walkability, connectivity, homeownership, identity, quality of life, community wealth building, and the restoration of land impacted by freeway development. Focus areas for the Plan document include expressing the vision through clear and compelling graphics, along with an implementation matrix that identifies “Day One” projects and early wins to keep momentum rolling.
The 5th Avenue Community Plan is thoughtfully co-created with the local community. The project's Working Group, comprised of leaders of local organizations, community members, and youth from the 5th Avenue neighborhood, meets regularly and directly shape the goals and action items of the Plan. Across all stages of the Plan's visioning and development, the Seva team facilitates additional community outreach to capture the breadth of experiences and desires of the community and weaves these priorities into the Community Plan.
