Seva Workshop is leading a multidisciplinary consultant team in updating City of Tacoma’s Comprehensive Plan and its Transportation Master Plan.
We are partnering with city staff to design an inclusive and equitable engagement program; leading analysis and policy development for land use, housing, parks and recreation, economic development, public facilities, and urban form elements; supporting the implementation of the engagement program to ensure meaningful contributions to developing the plan’s vision and policies; and orchestrating an interdisciplinary consultant team to produce a cohesive plan unified around a common vision and set of key outcomes. Our leadership is underpinned with a commitment to best practices in inclusive community planning.
Dreaming up a people centered city
One Tacoma 2050 is a next-generation Comprehensive Plan. It articulates a possible blueprint for the future of all climate-friendly cities, moving away from a downtown-centric growth pattern to a pattern of complete neighborhoods and employment centers. In the context of global and regional changes related to climate and demography, this Plan uniquely takes a community-defined approach to directresources toward the future Tacomans want. Based on several years’ worth of community engagement findings, this Plan focuses in measurable and observable ways on local priorities of equity, opportunity, public health, safety, and sustainability.
